Final Project - Aubri Brimhall
Aubri Brimhall grew up in Utah and began attending Snow College in Ephraim Utah during the Fall of 2019. She has always had an interest in the arts department and has explored many mediums to express herself including ceramics, photography, dance, music, theater, and everything in between.
When creating this project, she had a hope that the viewers of her artwork might be able to relate each string to tell a different time in their lives. Some of the strings are knotted or braided, displaying teamwork or times when we have helped to hold each other up. Other pieces are frayed, displaying a time in our lives where we were so fragile that if one more thing were to go wrong we could have easily gone into a downwards spiral. There are images that are neatly put together, and images where it appears that the string was thrown onto the surface with no thyme or reason. All of these images have something in common though, aside from all being string, they all contain their own stories. If you look closely, each strand of yarn is created through many pieces of woven thread. This is to symbolize all of the experiences we have that shape us into who we are.
