Dallin.Geppelt - Composition

for this cow I tried to align the rule of thirds grid with his white triangle and the bump of his rear hip. i also cropped out a lot of empty space.

here I lined up the plants from small to large and centered them with a slight angle

I centered the frame on the split she makes with her paws and fur. I shot portrait to exaggerate that line.

The first photo's composition utilizes a triangle shape. The lines of the wire also lead the viewer across the photo from the pole to the structure in the background. The second photo's composition uses a combination of analogous colors and repetition of shape in the foreground and background. The third photo contrasts the black bike with the yellow of the grass to make the photo have more contrast.

For the picture of the sprinkler I wanted the focus to be how the water affects the dandelion. That's why the dandelion is in the center of the frame with the water coming from the side.
In this picture I liked how the chain link provides a square background for the ivy flower. I also like the contrast between the red and green leaves, that's why I put the red flower in the middle of the frame.

With the cow I chose to frame this vertically to contrast the horizontal lines going across the frame. The stripes of the cow also go vertically. The contrast between these lines makes the picture interesting.

In the first and third one I was trying to use the straight lines from that barn as leading lines. Then in the second one I used the “Worms Eye View” because I think it’s a really cool perspective and again I was trying to get a straight line. Then I added the picture of the cow because I thought it was cute!

For the bike pictures I wanted a lot of empty space to kind of focus on the bike. I also wanted the road's natural lines to lead the eye into the distance and give it a sense of going somewhere on an adventure. And for the owl I wanted him to be in the center of the picture and the only thing in focus to bring more attention to him.
