Stages of Life
From the very moment a person is born they begin their journey. Every person takes on their own unique path, different from anyone else’s with experiences of their very own that shape them to be who they are. My project follows through the life of a women from the time of birth up until death, and all the experiences and roles she goes through that make up the person she is to become. The suitcase photographed in each picture is a symbol of life and its ability to remain constant, also to create the feeling of movement throughout each of the stages of life this woman goes through. Each pair of shoes captures the stages this woman gets to experience throughout her individual journey, each pair very different in their own way, but coming together in unison to create a sense of who this woman was, is, and will become.
Every individual becomes who they are because of the different roles they take on, making us all unique in our own way. Which can only bring to mind one question, what shoes have created who you are?
