Paint Bucket Tool: fills image with color or pattern

To fill with color:
  • In the Toolbox, select the Paint Bucket Tool.
  • Click on your image to fill the area.
  • Use Tolerance field to adjust the tool's sensitivity.
  • in the Options bar you can also choose the blending mode and opacity.
To fill with pattern:
  • in the Options bar, choose Fill mode "Pattern".

Gradient Tool: behind the paint bucket tool in the tool bar, click and drag across canvas

Linear gradient Shades from the starting point to the ending  point in a straight line.
Radial gradient  Shades from the starting point to the ending point in a circular pattern.
Angular gradient Shades in a counterclockwise sweep around the starting point.
Reflected gradient Shades using symmetric linear gradients on either side of the starting point.
Diamond gradient  Shades from the starting point outward in a diamond pattern. The ending point defines one corner of the diamond.
