Photoshop Tutorial Meg Jenkins

Text Tool—Photoshop

1) Open a photo.

2) Select the text tool from the palate on the left side (large T; If you click and hold, there are four options. Choose Horizontal Type Tool or Vertical Type Tool)

3) Click and drag on the document to create a text box

4) Notice that this process creates a Layer for text

5) Type the text

6) Choose a font from the tool bar across the top.

7) The next icon to the right allows you to choose a font size.

8) The next icon allows you to choose how you want the text to appear: sharp, crisp, strong, smooth.

9) Moving to the right, the next icon allows to choose if you want the text centered, right justified, or left justified.

10) The next lets you pick color.

11) The next allows you to adjust the shape of the text, or warp the text. Click on style and look through the pull-down menu. There are lots of options here, so experiment.

12) The far left icon on the tool bar across the top allows you to move the text around on the photo.
