Photoshop tutorial, Jessica Ibarra

Cropping Tool

You use the cropping tool on pictures that have unwanted space around the subject. When you click on your picture with the cropping tool it will create a box, you want to make the box frame what you want left in your picture, everything left outside of the box will be cropped out. Once you have your picture cropped the way you want go up to the top tool bar and click on the check mark button and it will crop your picture.
If you want certain dimensions for your picture you can go up to the top left hand corner and click on the blue arrow next to the crop symbol, it will drop down a window that has different dimensions, (for example: crop 4 inch x 6 inch) click on the dimensions you want and crop your picture like you normally would. Photoshop will keep the ratio of the dimensions you want. If the dimensions you want aren't displayed then you can type them into the width and height boxes on the top tool bar.
