Beauty and Durability of Old Houses

Artist Statement
Anymore old ideas and objects are undesirable which is why I
chose to photograph them. Old houses whether they are cherished or not is a
part of our culture. An inspiration of this project was my grandmother’s house,
which is an old pioneer house. It’s beauty and durability has always amazed me
that something so old can endure for over 150 years. This me wonder what are
others house that will inspire me with their beauty and durability. During this
process, I searched for houses with character that represent their own style in
beauty and durability. This makes me
wonder what can we as human beings to become like the old houses. Will we feel
cherished our entire life or will we allow ourselves to decay and be more and
more desperate for love?
Now this series, Beauty and Durability of Old Houses, will
show how being cherished can affect the homes for the better. This idea will
hopefully mend your life for the better as it has mine.
